Awarded to personnel within the Ministry of Justice area (police and prison service) who have been deployed on international missions.
The medal may be awarded posthumously and is then given to the next of kin.
If awarded twice a silver oak leaf device is added to the ribbon.
If awarded three times a gold oak leaf device is added to the ribbon.
Personnel who’ve been deployed in the period 1945-2019 will be eligible for a single medal (no devices), no matter the amount of deployments.

Further information: The first medals was awarded on september 5th 2022. 18 awards was made to police officers, who’ve been deployed the last 12th months, to amongst others Ukraine. Officers who have been deployed after June 1st 2019 get the award automatically and anyone deployed before that, have to apply for the award, according to a press statement from the Ministry of Justice.
