Navy Long Service Medal



Official abbreviation: H.T.S.

Instituted January 29th 1801 by King Christian 7th.

Awarded to personnel in the Danish Navy for 25 years of service, after their 20th birthday.
After 40 years of service, a golden Oak-leaf device will be added to the ribbon.

Design: Worn in a red ribbon with a wide white centre stripe. The obverse shows the monogram of King Christian VII.

Other information: The 25 and 40 years medals are the same medal, the device is just added to a ribbon after 40 years. Personel eligible for the Medal of Merit in Silver, will get this instead of the 40 Years LSM.
